I found a great website of Prometheus. There are many details about it. It also tell us many other information. http://thezodiac.com/prometh.htm
At first, the fire was belonging to Gods, because if people get the fire they will be arrogant to Gods. But since Prometheus steals some fire from the hearth of Zeus and gives it to his mortals. People won't get cold on night time, and the animals also are afraid of it. But therefore Zeus decides to punish Prometheus for a few centuries.
Prometheus' punishment is to be chained to a rock, where an eagle comes by everyday to eat on his liver. And next day the liver will come back to his body. So, even now the punishment is still working.
I think the scapegoat of Prometheus was really bad. But when the fire appear, the history started change a lot. People can have more free time to invent something they need. And the fire also let people eat the prepared food and keep warm in the night.

Awesome job Michael! You really did a nice job relating the story and everything, though I think you could have provided more insight into your own personal ideas about what the story means. For example, early people probably got fire from lightning, which comes down from the sky (Heaven) and explains why fire was "stolen" from the gods, since they couldn't start it themselves and had to literally carry it with them everywhere they went.
